Bar Sofia

A Riot of Art + Energy

Feel like stepping into a South American party where the salsa music is pumping and pisco sours flow like the Amazon?  Try Bar Sofia.

With a design narrative to whisk guests far away from their actual Nova Scotia environs, this concept lets customers glide from an opulent palazzo vibe to the raucous barrio bar and patio scene, in a space adorned with tropical plants and surrealist art … that might have them wondering if they had one too many margaritas.

Chain link fence as connective device linking elegance to fiesta.

With the blessing of Brazilian surrealist painter Rafael Silveira, we added extra whimsy to some of his pieces via the brush of muralist Anya Kaz.

Scales and materials shift as the energy goes up on the bar side.

This Latin American bar and restaurant is giving ‘Rainbow Mountain’ realness with its vibrantly tiled patio and surreal pop art. Bar Sofia’s young, sexy vibe radiates inside and out, igniting an appetite for fun and celebration. The energetic atmosphere and abundance of outdoor seating makes it the perfect waterfront cocktail bar for patio parties with live DJs, melos and tacos, pisco sours, slushie cocktails + more.
