Bishop’s Cellar

Long Live the Evolution!

There’s nothing more satisfying than when the next chapter of a great book takes you even deeper into the story.  That’s just what happened as this venerable wine, beer and spirits store undertook an expansion and renovation after 15 years of building a loyal following.

Speaking of chapters and books, the evolution of the Bishop’s experience was heavily inspired by libraries and storytelling. Selecting the appropriate bottle of wine is oddly similar to walking into a library to find a good read. You will often choose a book based on how you are feeling. If you’re looking for something to curl up by the fire to read, you might not head for the science stacks (unless you’re a PHD candidate for physics..)

We approached the customer journey with the notion that mood, occasion and personal interests would steer the decision-making process.  To help guide a shopper, the store itself needed to tell stories. The store signage needed to inspire and animate, even if the superb (and story-rich) staff weren’t nearby.

Want to know more about that wine?  Ask the store itself.

Changeable signs integrated into wall units help.

A library book cart for wine!

Welcoming over 600 people to the store for our grand opening today, we heard from customer after customer, some new, some longtime friends - how beautiful the new store looked. They raved about the thoughtful design, meticulous detail and ease of navigation. This has been the case every day since we opened the doors.
Throughout the project - every member of the team of the Breakhouse team was so wonderful to work with. You helped us bring our new vision for Bishop’s Cellar to life.
We can’t thank you enough for the beautiful store you helped us build.

Let’s not forget about the beer lovers!
